Welcome to My Website!

For my text presentation project, I chose to create a website.

This website was made to discuss the historical fiction YA novel titled Indian No More by Charlene Willing McManis with Traci Sorell.

This book has received over a dozen awards and nominations, including:

AND MORE!

Here is a link to the book in the iSchool Library Catalog: Indian No More.
And here is a link to the Spanish translation from Lee & Low Books: Indian No Mas

Read this review from a child's perspective- her joy and love for this book is contageous!:
Review by 13-year-old Ashleigh on Indigo's Bookshelf: Voices of Native Youth
And if you want to read some more reviews go on over to
Indian No More on Goodreads

Indian No More has been challenged and even banned in various places. How wrong is that? Why withhold this story from young readers??? Cause racism, that's why.
From DoSomething.org:
"In 2021, this book was challenged and frozen for review in York, Pennsylvania where some parents feared the books would make white children feel guilty about their race or indoctrinate them." It was also altogether banned in Duvall County, Florida. To read more about book bans click here but be prepared to be totally frustrated- don't say I didn't warn you!

I hope you enjoy exploring this website!
